The main commercial variety and most popular banana in Australia is the Cavendish, also known as the Williams or “Mons Mari” in Queensland. Plump with bright yellow skin this fruit is approximately 20cms long with a width of 4 – 5cms.
Seasons: Available all year round with peaks in September through to May.
Regions: The main growing regions in Western Australia are the Coral Coast and North West in particular Carnarvon and Kununurra. Remaining supply comes from QLD and NSW.
